Resumes are an area I’ve quietly helped people with for years and now I would like to offer that service to you. If you are on the search for a new job and need a resume or cover letter, I can help. You want to let your potential new employer know what you can bring to the table, while conveying that information in a clear and concise manner. Most of the resumes I have put together are for people in the Fargo, North Dakota and Minneapolis, Minnesota areas, but the remote process I have put in place allows for me to help you no matter where you are located.
Resume Process:
- If you have a current resume, email it to me at sarah@mccurdywriting.com.
- By taking a look at your current resume, I can provide a time and cost estimate for your resume project. I usually work quickly so if you have a time crunch, you have come to the right place. You never know when you’ll come across your dream job listing.
- After receiving your approval for the timeline and cost, I will collect a deposit for the project.
- I will send you a list of questions to answer, or we will set up a time to visit on the phone.
- I will put together draft one of your resume and email it to you. You can request any changes you’d like and you will receive 2 rounds of edits within the estimate. After that additional charges will apply, I will provide details about this in your estimate.
- Once you say the resume is ready to go, final payment is due. (I will accept checks and credit cards).
- After payment is received, I will email you the unlocked Word document and the PDF document.
- The bonus here is that if you ever have minor changes to make to the resume, you are free to do that on your own with the Word document and you don’t have to return to me each time. Of course, if you need additional updates, I provide that service as well.
Cost Breakdown:
Here are some cost examples you can expect when requesting an estimate.
- Existing resume needing most recent jobs added, new formatting, new references – approximately $125
- No existing resume, need to start from scratch – approximately $175
- Cover letter written either catered to a specific job listing, or a general cover letter for your specific industry – approximately $65. Additional cover letters catered to other jobs, additional $30 each.
- There will be a discount if you order a resume + cover letter.
I have written and updated resumes for professionals in business, the North Dakota oil field, teaching, counseling, hairstyling, hospitality, from the National Park Service, and more. If I am unable to assist with your resume due to industry specific requirements, I can refer you to one of my colleagues. I want you to get the best service.
