Grandma Helen’s Famous Rolled Sugar Cookies

Mix the following ingredients, then set aside:

¾ Cup soft shortening (1/2 Cup softened butter and ¼ Cup Crisco)

1 Cup sugar

2 eggs

½ tsp. Watkins Clear Vanilla

Sift the following ingredients:

2 ½ Cups flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

Add to above mixture.

Chill for one hour – only remove dough which you are rolling at the time, leave the rest in the fridge. Roll to desired thickness (1/8-1/4 inch), cut, bake at 400º for 5-8 minutes.

Grandma Helen’s Famous Powdered Sugar Frosting

1 Cup powered sugar

1 tsp. (or more) of Watkins Clear Vanilla

1 pat of melted butter

Food coloring

Mix and frost your cookies!
