My friend, Lisa, and I made these great treats yesterday and we made adjustments to the previous recipe I had posted. We used parchment paper and baked the treats at a higher temperature in order to shorten the cooking time.
The parchment paper will save your life – okay, well, maybe it will just save the clean up time. Also, it really makes it easy to remove the treats after they’ve set in the refrigerator.
We are all about making our time in the kitchen more efficient and these two tweaks certainly did the trick!
XOXO Pretzels
**Place parchment paper on a baking sheet – not pictured here. (Experts recommend that you should NOT use wax paper, as often times it will smoke inside an oven due to the heat. Parchment paper is designed for baking purposes.) Place Hershey’s Hugs or Kisses in the middle of the pretzel rings.
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 325 degrees for about two minutes, just until the chocolate is soft. (If you bake them too long, the chocolate will harden – see, now you’ve already learned from my mistakes.)
Remove the pan from the oven and press M&Ms into the center of the Hugs and Kisses. Once the pan has cooled enough, place it in the fridge for about 15 minutes to set the chocolate.
Remove from the fridge and use a spatula to remove the chocolate from the paper, or just peel the treats right off of the paper.
Since these are so cute, they look great in clear bags tied with a ribbon and they make great little gifts. Sometimes, it’s “one for me, one for the gift bag.” Try that option, it’s a fun one.
Feel free to get more festive and opt for using the holiday colored M&Ms. These are simple enough to be a great activity to keep the kids busy and involved in holiday preparations.
Warning – these little guys are highly addictive. Let me know what you think!

Apparently this is a very popular thing to do around the holidays…according to other local bloggers who have also posted.
